Back To School Fitness Tips

The kids have gone back to school and chaos has resumed. As our day-to-day family schedule changes, it is a challenge for me to find time to workout every day. Don’t let a busy schedule be the excuse for not starting a new workout program. Here are some back to school fitness tips I use to fit exercise intoLindsay Final 2 kids my day regardless of my hectic schedule.

1. Shorter more frequent workouts

Experts recommend 30 minutes of daily exercise. If you don’t have a full 30-minute block of time, break-up your fitness into shorter 10-15 minute high-intensity workouts. Run around the park, up and down stairs or do jumping jacks or burpees. You can still burn calories even if you have only a couple of minutes!

2. Exercise with your kids

Kids can become convenient reasons not to exercise. It’s easy to get so caught up in chores, cooking, shuttling them around, etc. I love to involve my kids in my daily exercise. Bike rides, walking the dog, and playing outside are great ways to get your heart-rate up. In addition to getting my workout in, exercising with my family also helps my children stay healthy.

3. At-home fitness DVDs

I love working out in the convenience of my own living room. All of the fitness DVDs by Team BeachBody are defined workout programs that are very easy-to-follow. No matter what your health and fitness goals are, you’ll find the perfect workout program for you. Many can be done in 30 minutes or less…a fantastic time saver!
